Fear is a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey, but it doesn’t have to hold you back.
Meet Anne Dolin, founder of The Infused Equestrian, a line of therapeutic, toxin-free equine grooming and equestrian products. In this episode of The Leadline Podcast, Anne shares her personal journey of “doing it scared”, an inspiring story for anyone who is facing their own fears as an entrepreneur. She believes that you can overcome fear by taking small steps outside of your comfort zone, helping you build resilience and confidence over time.
“We just had to jump in and do it scared, and do it without a whole lot of knowledge on how it was going to turn out in the end,” she says of how she felt when she and her husband first launched The Infused Equestrian. “We were very intentional about what our short-term and long-term goals were going to be. Each time we’d reach one of those goals, we have to look at the next one and think, ‘Okay, well I don’t know how exactly this is going to turn out, but we’re gonna do it anyway’.”
Anne also emphasizes the importance of embracing risk-taking as an entrepreneur. She believes that taking calculated risks can help you grow your business and achieve your goals. Of course, this doesn’t mean taking reckless risks but rather being willing to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things.
“For me, there’s a lesson in even the worst scenarios, even if it turns out sideways,” says Anne. “Finding the silver lining in that is key. If you don’t find the silver lining, then you’re just going to become more paranoid and more scared to do something that is uncomfortable.”
